The driving force behind TRI's long-established standards of excellence can be found in the leadership of corporate officers Nora Lee, Margarite Lin, and Sandy Butler.
Nora Lee
President & CEO, Chairman of the Board
Nora Lee was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has been involved with Technical Resources International from its inception as secretary of the corporation and was later appointed as TRI's President/CEO/Chairman of the Board in 1990. Ms. Lee has defined the mission and strategic direction of TRI for 24 years, spearheading the development of TRI's Contract Research Organization status and expanding the company's social marketing and international trade activities.
Ms. Lee has 44 years of experience working with international development issues. Prior to joining TRI, she worked with the Inter-American Development Bank and the International Cotton Advisory Committee. Ms. Lee has a degree in General Studies with a concentration in Business/Economics from American University and a National Teacher's Certification from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is fluent in Spanish, has advanced proficiency in French, and a working knowledge of Portuguese.
Margarite Lin, CPA
Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer
Margarite Lin was born and raised in Taiwan, where she later earned a B.S. degree in Accounting from Soochow University in Taipei. Ms. Lin immigrated to the United States in 1973, and is very proud to be a Taiwanese-American. She has over 44 years of accounting, finance, and budget management experience. In 1988, Ms. Lin successfully passed the Certified Public Accountant examination in the State of Maryland, at which time she also became a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. She joined TRI's team in April 1991, and oversees the company's accounting, contracts management, information technology, facilities, and human resources functions. Ms. Lin is fluent in Taiwanese and Mandarin.
Sandra Butler
Vice President of Health Division
Sandra Butler was born in Alexandria, VA and raised in North Carolina, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in Chemistry. She later went on to earn her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland-College Park. Dr. Butler has over 25 years of experience in drug/biologic development from preclinical to Phase I-IV. She joined TRI’s team in 2004 as the Director of Regulatory Affairs. Since 2008, Dr. Butler has been TRI’s Vice President of the Health Division where she oversees all of the Health Division contracts. Prior to TRI, Dr. Butler worked at Charles River Laboratories and Intracel Corporation. She has a Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC US) with extensive experience in a variety of therapeutic areas. She has numerous publications and five patents.
